Has anyone ever heard of any interesting engine transplants for the VX? I was thinking Vauxhall 3.2 V6, a VX320!! I saw in EVO mag a rather interesting S2 Elise with AUDI V6 engine. Whats been done already?

You would need to be careful that any additional weight was more than made up for in power (which I would expect of a V6)...but also consider the implications to weight distribution and therefore handling.
The VX is really about handling, not drag racing after all.

I think they are putting Honda R-type engines in Elises to homologize the cars. A tuned Vauhall engine (compressor/turbo) should supply all the power you need (300+ hp) without going through the hassle of fitting a different engine.

You have to bear in mind size constraints...apparently Lotus real trouble squeezing the Toyota 1.8 in the Elise.
Any sort of V6 would probably need serious chassis modifications.
The idea of a Honda NSX V6 was muted around on SELOC, but it's too big.
One option is the 2.0 Duractec engine, BrianDrought has now got one in his Elise.
Other than that Honda's ITR/CTR and S2000 engines would probably all fit in the VX. VAG 1.8T would fit and can be tuned up to around 380bhp (at great expense!)

Hi,
I recently saw a VX220 with a Vauxhall V6 in it. Longitudenly mounted, extended rear chassis, and widened clams, valances, etc...
There will be a limited production run soon.

isnt the v6 ones something to do with a compamy called savage?!? stu harris has mentioned them in past....i think they have used a "v" engine at santa pod ! a bit messy as it really does upset the balance!
i know of a speedy undergoing lots of work at the mo.......400bhp!
