I just got asked about this on the other thread, so thought i'd post it up on its own...

Basically the idea is to get the pedals aligned such that when you are pressing on the brake pedal (so the slack is out of it), it aligns perfectly with the accelerator, so you can use the edge of your foot to blip the throttle without contorting yourself too much. It's worth checking beforehand if the pedal is actually in the right position already, because it could well be. I was forced to sort mine out because the welding at the top of the pedal came off and the whole thing just dropped into the footwell

Here's a view of it - I think there are 3 nuts that hold it on, just pull the red ridged bit of connector out to free the cable, undo the nuts and everything should drop out. Before you do that i'd measure where the pedal is when the brakes are pressed so you know where to adjust it to.

You'll end up with something like this:

You just need to undo the silver torx-head bolt and then prise off the pedal. You may well have to try quite hard to get the pedal off though... I'd maybe try heating it a bit and cooling the middle with a freezer spray, then it should just drop out.

You can then just put it back in the right position and you're sorted...

I'm wondering if this could also help move the accelerator pedal slightly nearer to the brake pedal.

the pedals are just screw on plates, you could alsways make a bigger plate if you wanted them closer in that respect i guess.

Bigger plate is easiest and reversible. You could bend the bit of metal while it's out I guess, but I wouldn't think it would be very pretty.
