Before the search police jump in I have searched . Apart from a car what will I need to run the scubawagen at a track day ? Sorry for asking a question that has more than likely been asked before but I really can't spend all day trying to get the phrase " do I need a harness for a track day " to work in the search engine cheers for any advise and flame away if you wish

to start with, just your standard car and a helmet. Out of the box they are decent occasional track cars. After that you'll need updated pads and driver training. After that uprated disks and poss brakes, abs cut off, adjustable suspension and uprated springs. Harness bar would be nice, its the one thing left on my list of things to do to my car, apart from a stage 4 :D Oh I forgot one thing... Grin like a loon.

Standard car ok to learn. First thing: some driver coaching will make you safer and LOADS quicker Then gearbox breather Then uprated pads and fluid. No need at all to uprate discs or calipers IMO if the OEM ones are in good nick ABS switch or just take out the fuse Then springs and dampers (with cornerweights and geo set up) Then harness Then wheels and Ao48's (exige tyres) or similar Then POWER! But always keep a close eye on your rear tie bars (upgrade if doing a lot of track work and have big power) and the bolts in your suspension that can work loose.

The need for a harness depends upon your size. If you are a 'snug' fit anyway, they will not make much differnce. If you are a streak of pee, you need to be strapped down.
