Gutted to hear this Fab. I'd go nuts if anyone had hit my old VX (or the new one I'm about to buy!!)

Carry on with what you are doing at the moment. Get your friend to look on the Database (as mentioned, even a partial plate is enougth as long as you know the colour, make and Model, as wll as a general area of ownership to match it to!) and get you in-laws to keep an eye out.

Hope you get it sorted mate

Just chill out, open a bottle of Red and chinky chinky

just used it in the pepper sauce
i am trying so hard to focus to remember the number

i still can see in my mind S116SHE DARK BLUE 106 PEUGEOT :angry2:

After how helpful you were to me yesterday in getting my car sorted I feel doubly sorry for you Fab. I'd go knock on the doors, if her boyfriend was there in person for her to argue with won't he live near your mother-on-law? Hope you get it sorted or find something on the database. How about sticking something up on the lamp posts, "do you know this car?..." Same thing happened to me and I never found who did it so I know how pi$$ed you must be. Shame it's spoilt Bastille Day. :flame: :drink: :beat: :9mm:

So sorry mate but, look on the bright side. The Girl that's just twatted my car is my wife! no detective work needed! Seriously though, I hope you find her and sort it out. There's no way she didn't know she'd done it.

gutted mate, there are too many people who think hitting the car is just part of the parking process, London is the worse. Last week 2 separate people opened their doors onto mine from both sides! so I have a nice black mark on one side and a dent on the other, the first one was in a car park where I deliberately parked off centre to avoid this exact thing and some stupid 4x4 parking right on the line obviously clouted mine (black 4x4 and a black mark on mine). The second was in my work car park where I literally watched my CEO's personal assistant open her door into mine and get out without blinking an eye!! Its really gets to me how people treat other peoples property, complete lack of respect.

GOTCHA
Didn't sleep at all last night see my post at 1 two three four five am was so angry how can people can do that i already claim once this year so didnt want to loose my bonus......, so this morning went to see a friend as I was not sure if it was a Peugeot or a Ford. Checked both cars with the impact and it was revealed that it was a Peugeot that had hit my car, perfect match with the height etc. Got the number plate from a friend S116SKE confirming it was a Blue Peugeot 106 (as I thought). So felt better and went to a ride to Canterbury to go down the Police station to update my files, btw they didn't give a toss about it. As the weather did carry on my drive, and guess what - FOUND HEr, no trace of impact on her car at all :angry2: but after close inspection of the vehicle, traces of yellow paint were discovered on the tow eyes YIPPEE!!!. Went back home (another 30 miles there and back) to get my camera - lovely weather for the ride, sorry on those who are working and have missed a glorious day; but when I arrived back the car was gone. So, had a talk to a few neighbours, and left my phone number and asked them to ring me on my mobile when they next see the car so I can go with my camera and take piccies before she removes the evidence, IF she notices. The car is already junk! Now, I have phoned my insurance and am waiting for her to claim liability - shall I be nice to her and claim losses of my car this summer because the shield has to be put back on my car after waiting one month (to dry). As the part itself is on a waiting list of 2 months, we are talking about losing the use of my car for a minimum of three months!!
Advice Required, what shall I do
I have discovered this morning that my legal assistance was removed this year from my insurance :-(, but never mind I will get a good solicitor (any suggestions); and what should I claim being logical? My friend can do the car very well, he is brilliant, but his courtesy car is a sh*tt* panda and I do not fancy driving one of those for three months. Am going to see him now to see whether he can get me a Range Rover. Now I don't wish to be nasty to this girl, just to make her understand I have 1 witness AND evidence (without wishing to disclose them of course).
See you all at the Chase next week
Regards
Fab
FEEL BETTER :-)

Fab, trust me, it's no loss - most insurance companies' legal departments know less about the law than you will :9mm:

If you haven't found anyone yet, I found that the sols that Europa Consultants use seem reasonable enough... can pm you details if you want.

Regarding the police apathy, I wouldn't take it personally - they are like it with everyone. Had an acquaintance suffer just the same thing a few days ago, random scumbag ramming his parked Mitzi Evo for no apparent reason then driving off (the front end now looks even more odd ;) ) You basically have to do all their detective work for them, then present them with a perfect case for prosecution. Preferably with an impeccable independent witness. After they've got their result they won't bother informing you.

Sorry to hear that mate! Really pees me off when people damage other peoples cars then scarper! This will sound over cautious but whenever I have to park even remotely near another car I always take a few pics of their car/reg/paint colour and bumpers before i leave it, that way if i get back and it has a big crack down it and paint left I can trace the bugger, at least confront them and they may confess! It seems drastic, but its a sure fire way of getting the number, only takes a few secs, although mates/gf will take the pizz no end.... :D

Really feel for you mate. People don't realise these cars aren't 'bump' friendly. I was involved in a shunt the other day in my company shed (a Pug) and all that happened was a little scrape on the number plate. If I'd been in the VX it would have been a new rear clam for sure. Some people actually believe that 'bumpers' are meant to bumping. Fu*king idiots.
