Arg! Under an hour away from here - but can't afford to track the car at the moment. Need a track fix too. I've driven my VX on there - did about 25/30 laps. It's a short track, simple to learn. A few slow corners, and a couple of faster ones. Only a couple of places to overtake, but would be great fun. May have to see what my finances are like nearer the time (yeah, like anything'll change in 2 weeks), but, if anyone from here goes, I'll be there to support & video if nothing else. Thorney did ask me to sort something out with respect to a weekend meet involving Llandow, and I still intend to, but I need to research the area a bit first, and try and find some things round there to make it worth the treck for our eastern members!

Now you've said that I am getting more tempted especially as it's the closest track for me and from what I read it's supposed to be smooth too? I'll sleep on it ;)

Yeah, it is smooth - apparently it's been resurfaced in the last 12/24 months. There is a little bit of undulation / ripple just at the start of the breaking point on the main straight (just before the Bus Stop / tight corner complex), but apart from that it's great! I drove it when it was damp, but there was loads of traction out of the bends. There isn't huge amounts of run off, but to be honest, I think you'd have to be very silly to stuff it at Llandow anyway! cheers

I'm canvassing passenger interest at the moment but there's a better than evens chance that I'll be there - assuming there are still places left by Friday :)

I've been to Llandow twice now (spectating), and the first time there were Caterfields, Imprezas, Evos, and a couple of Elise. They all seemed well behaved. I think it's a bit small, and unknown for the boy racer types - I'm sure they're only interested in Bragging that: 'I've driven at Silverstone / Brands and was nearly as fast at that in my phat Nova' The second time, it was a MLR (Mistubishi Lancer Register) event and, again, seemed very well run. Edit: I think that you can hire the circuit for a day for 'testing' for £60, so it's not that expensive a place anyway. Something to remember. There are very few facilities there. There is a small petrol station about 1/2 miles away, and a bigger (Esso I think) about 7/8 miles away. But if you want Optimax, it's a fair drive. Not too sure where the nearest would be... Then again, you can lap till you're dizzy and still not use too much fuel, cause it's a shortish track :D

I've booked myself on today :) It's likely that my brother will be passengering, but if anyone else fancies a passenger ride with me - no problem at all! I've booked instruction as well, so it might be better to catch me later rather than earlier. Then again it might not, because I'll be faster and possibly scarier :P

Went to Llandow this morning - met up with Stuntman who very kindly let me passenger. Imnotworthy Quite a few cars there: Elise Westfields Puma Accord VX :P Mini Some left-hand drive vehicle (don't know what it was called). Stuntman was blazing around the track - overtaking a shedload of cars on the way. :D Due to the smallish size of the track, it is only possible to overtake on a couple of bits. Stuntman can fill you in on all the technical details. Had a great morning. Cost £20 = £10 passenger fee; £10 helmet loan from the Organiser. Had a good look at a Mrk 1 Elise (sure I'm calling these the wrong names !!) and a Mrk II Elise. Chatted to the guy with the Mrk II. They are a good and friendly bunch. In fact, all that went were extremely friendly/good natured and I had a good look at the Westies. The day was cold (bitterly cold at times) although dry. The Westie guys were really wrapped up. Some of the Elise had their roofs off as well. The Guys in the left hand drive thing spun off a couple of times !! The second time they got themselves spun off in a very peculiar position and spread sh*te all over the track. They could do with a viewing platform/stand. This would give the spectators plenty of sight around the entire track. Took a few pictures, although I don't know how to load them onto the forum. Anyone that knows how to do it, let me know and I'll post them up. The IMG thing at the top wants me to type a www address. I've got them downloaded on my C Drive. Stuntman, once again many thanks for letting me passenger - really appreciated. Looking forward to Tintern now. :jump: Woody
