If you've never taken your car on track before then it's time to get
yourself along to one of our Trackday Introductory Courses.
Run by Auto Express's sister magazine evo, these courses are designed to
teach you the basics of circuit driving.
Not only will this give you an insight into the skills of a racing driver,
it will also give you the chance to learn about the handling
characteristics of your car on the limit, and in complete safety.
The half-day course begins with a comprehensive briefing covering all the
important things you need to know about trackdays - basic car preparation,
flag signals, the racing line, overtaking etiquette, the works. Then one
of our team of highly qualified race instructors will take you around the
circuit, stopping along the way to examine in detail the
cambers, bumps, turn-in points, braking markers and apexes of each part of
the track.
Next it's into your own car, following an instructor around the circuit to
learn the correct cornering lines and braking points. After 20 minutes of
this you'll find your pace picking up. Back in the pits you'll have the
chance to chat through what you've learned with an instructor before
going out on to the track again to put it all into practice on your own,
before a final debrief with the instructors.
We may not have turned you into the next Jenson Button, but we promise
you'll have a fantastic time!
