This morning I have been speaking to a tuning company called L.A.D Motorsport about tuning the NA VX.

This company is based in Morecambe (North of England) and are renound for getting big horse power from engines, retianing reliability and driveability.

I have had work done by them in the past on my old 306 GTI-6 and can honestly say I was very very impressed with the workmanship, knowledge and results this company gives.

They are reguarly featured in 'car and car conversions' for their cars.

To list some of their packages:

LAD 200bhp Clio Cup, available straight from the renaut dealers for £14,495 Imnotworthy
They also have the car and car conversions write up on that page

306 GTI-6 - from 167bhp to 200bhp (mine was 210bhp)
This is obtained from headwork alone.
I originally saw this in car and car conversions which made me get it (£1200)

Saxo VTS - from 130bhp to 160bhp
This is obtained from headwork alone

Saxo VTS - from 130bhp to 180bhp >CLICKY<
This is obtained from headwork and cams (from a 1.6 litre engine :o )

They have worked on many cars and do quite a lot of engines for stock cars, including Vauxhall engines.

Here is the interesting bit........
They offer a package for the Lotus Elise that raises the power of the K-Series engine from
118bhp to 170bhp. Imnotworthy >ClLICKY<
I enquired about what they did to get this power.
- Gas flowed, ported and polished head (removing up to a jamjar of material)
- Big valves
- Enlarged chambers
- new inlet manifold
- Exhaust system
- Air filter

They described the performance of this car as phenomonal. Quicker than the 190bhp elise and much more usable.

They advised they do not like to change the cams as their main aim of converting cars is to give them excellent driveability.
e.g. the expression used was that your grandma can potter about at 30mph in 5th gear.
However, they would look at offering a revised cam profile at extra request (would not be part of the standard package offered)

So here is the thing
They advised that they would put together a package for the NA VX if a car was available to develop with.
The person willing to aide in the development with their car would obviously be given a great deal.

I hope someone take this offer as it will have made my morning speaking with them, and this entire write up worth while.

I'd be very interested if they wanted to work on a VXT - I live up the road from them. B)

barrybethel, There's not much more I can get involved with now. I have spoken to them, and they were willing to put a package together. Give them a ring, I think they may be expecting a call from someone with a VX. Tell us how you get on if you do :D Joss, They didn't mention the turbo, we only spoke about the NA (mainly due to me being triggered from the AMD-180bhp thread) They might be interested in the VXT also. Give them a ring and get back to us :D
