Well after all the work I did before going on my 3000mile trip around Europe which was brilliant! I seem to have another issue to sort this time in the shape of a snapped oil filter/sandwich plate/adaptor plater snapping. Got to love breaking down in rush hour to be passed by 4 elises in an hr lol I have an external oil cooler kit with and additional sandwich plate to accept my senosrs for the guages. These were all on the car when I got it and am at a bit of a loss to what has caused it :( sure when I get it all apart it will become clear - maybe the wishbone fouled? Certainly never fouled before under full compression?? Maybe it was stressed and finally just gave up? I have suspected high oil pressure issues that the gauge was reading but took the oil pressure release valve out which was ok, car running fine other than a slightly louder ticking (like the injector noise) for the last say 1000miles - not excessive and doing it before the high oil reading. Was going to put another gauge on this weekend as I suspected the gauge/sensor but guess I have bigger things to sort like another engine bay FULL of oil (again, oil hose came off before spraying oil everywhere - clip was not tight!) :(:(:( I think it is the Vauxhall part that if broke - bit the filter would attach to - so will be fun finding whatever it is! Feel a bit better just typing it up - sorry for the moan. Just seems to be one job after another as of late :(:(

Paul it could of happened in a LOT worse places - the Alps one of them lol. Well I did about a lot of miles across France so good chance it was me :D where did you here I was spotted from?? Took the broken part off today and cleaned the oil mess up :) Does not look like the filter assembly came in contact with anything so can only think the housing was stressed and finally gave up. So a bit concerned going back to how it was. Mocal sandwich plate on std oil filter housing Alloy sandwich plate for oil pressure / oil temp sensors Then the oil filter I wonder if the extra length is what cause the stress / breakage? I also am still running the std oil cooler as well as the external oil cooler. Is this needed, do people usually ditch this? Think I may try to loose the extra sandwich plate and pick up the oil temp and oil pressure inline. So just need a oil housing now so it can go back together (the 45 deg angled cast alloy part) or part number :)

Thanks Guy ;) Yes that is the part that is broke there is a part number on the part itself 90530736 but Vauxhall said it was not valid? The part on the diags is 90530737? Will call vauxhall in the morning. Can't see there been any difference between the LET & LEH engine??????
