Competition car insurance may cover you for a one off but at a rather high cost.
Most people either don't bother (self included) or get a road policy from a specialist insurer that includes trackday cover as part of the policy.
You should note that trackday insurance has a HUGE excess and will only cover damage done to your car - if you plow into the back of someone they won't pay to fix the car you hit. Likewise if you're on track and someone with insurance hits you then their insurance won't pay for your damage.
In 3 years i've only seen a couple of accidents, all involved one car only and most appear to have been due to the driver not being able to control the car at the speeds they were doing.
HTH
mmm i know this is what worries me! dont wanna end up with no car, that must be devastating!

I got given a reasonable quote yesterday with good excess from www.moris.co.uk could be worth giving them a look.
cheers, just did a quote with them and it was £110 for the day, how's that compare to your quote?
