I need to put a boost gauge in my car and would like an oil pressure gauge too. Elise-shop.com do quite a nice pod for either two or three gauges and they also sell the gauges themselves for oil temp, oil pressure and boost. Are there any better options than this or any multifunction devices which are capable of doing the same and more?

I am currently reviewing my gauge setup - have the 2 pod version in the pic and oil pressure and oil temp gauges from Revotec also have a HKS boost controller for my boost reading (only) want all 3 in the same postion so option to just get revotec boost guage or go for a different makes. Have used the spa digital displays before and like the features but have to say looking at a neddle is quicker than reading a number :) you can mix and match your readings though and 2 guages gives you 4 different readings. Also the Spa have a red light that flashs if you reach the user set max reading which is a nice touch. Do like the look of the ones in the pic if they come with white background

I can't advise on gauges, what I will say is that I have the gauge pod illustrated for practical purposes it is pretty hopeless. It is far too out of the line of sight to be much use. I have an SC boost gauge and given that you need to be driving at speed to see max boost it is impossible to watch the gauge and where you are going. thumbsdown

I'd like a boost gague but would like it mounted in a pod on the windscreen frame so that it is near line of sight, as mentioned above. After searching around, unfortuneately I don't think that such a pod exists for the VX. :angry2:

I'm sure I've seen a couple of Exiges with a gauge pod on the screen surround at trackdays. Will keep an eye out and ask where they got them from if I encounter any more. thumbsup

Paul Have a look in www.autodials.co.uk thats where i got mine. I went for the Smoky Blacker 60 mm bought 4 oil press, oil temp, boost, and volt fitting them had to use a sandwich plate for oil gauges onto the oil filter and turn the sensor in towards the sump. Also the M20 npt fitting is no good you need a M18 if i remember.

I bought the saga electronic gauges from there , just boost and oil pressure and was hoping to mount them on top of dash pushed back to the windscreen was going to use something like the curved twin 60mm pods they use in the nissans and mitsi's

How easy are these to fit / wire in. Do you need to drill holes to get from the cabin to the engine bay and do the sensors 'plug in' to existing points on the engine (ie no drilling required)?

I would junk the radio and fit the gauges there :P I still have the Elise gauge pod, but as already said, reading the gauges whilst driving isn't ideal so I have my afr gauge where the radio used to be

The gauges i got were not that hard to hook up ran the cables inside the drives sill they sit in there nicely with CC pipe work did not need to drill anyholes. I drilled 4 x 60mm hole into dash either side of the stack dials got the dash and dails trimmed in Alcantara if you cut the holes right the dials will slot in looking straight ahead if you know what i mean pop the little sun shades on and it all blends in with the stack dials which are back lit blue and not trimmed in alcantara. What you have to take care with is if you use the sandwich plate the oil press sensor can be hit if in wrong position the best position is turned into wards sump but you will need to buy some npt fittings for that. I guess a photo would explain better but dont know how to post them. You get good instructions from autodials

Chatting to Courtenay today, John didn't seem to think it would be a problem if you had to look at them when driving as you would only glance at them infrequently and not really drive by them.

Love to see some photos of your dials. Just setup a Photobucket account and copy the link from the photo into your next post. You can hit 'preview post' to see if you've got the right link. There are tons of how to's on here about posting pics thumbsup
