New M5. To 60 right with each other, above it's in a different league and just blew me away. Exige S on track, consistently pulled away quite easily on the main straight at Croft.

I was hugely surprised to find very little could keep up with me on track (no great driver skill here – it was all car) Scooby’s didn’t stand a chance, my mates S2000 couldn’t keep up through the corners, I was even passing Westfield’s with relative ease! Granted the track was soaking wet but still… there was an M3, 350Z, a big TVR (although no idea which one) all skinned :D Huge amount of respect for the VX after that day. The only thing I couldn’t pass was a Honda powered S1 Elise and a Formula 27 race thing. I only managed two laps with the Honda – he had just let me passed when my brakes gave up the ghost (boiling fluid) rallly :tt:

VXT against my NA. Apart from the obvious speed advantage down the straight, it didn't stand a chance.

/remembers Paxing with Foxy many years ago in a virtually standard NA, leaving strage 3 turbos for dead. The funniest thing was seeing them 'wiggle' round the track trying to keep up.

Im sorry but this N/A Vs Turbo talk is shite. What does the N/A have over the Turbo? Better through the corners due to its superior suspension setup + less weight? Well home comes I easily kept up with a 200bhp S1 Elise - a lighter and arguably more track focused car than the N/A? I’ll tell you what makes a difference – the driver. Nothing more.

M3's all day long on track are fun to pass, with my measly 227bhp (why do drug dealers go to track days anyway :) ). I used to think Vtec engined Honads were fast, but they seem only marginally quicker than the traffic cones when on the track. Esprits, 944s, GTIs are all easy...but some of the Hyabusa Westys lay waste to everything

Ha Ha Fab,

I know exactly what you mean, I was monstered out of the way this morning by a Brabus Van! That could shift!!

But my underlying shame is that t'other day some knob in an mgzt was hanging an inch of my bumper, I gave it a little gas to give me some space as I wasn't interested, only to look again and find him still there.
Carried on pushing until I thought it was getting silly.
Eventually pulled over and have been hiding in a small dark room since.

Just goes to show you never know what somebody has under the bonnet.

Andy chinky chinky
(totally standard NA :) )

Not condoning racing on a public road or saying i've done it just wondering what you've raced on track / 1/4 mile / runway and what was the result

mine:
subaru imprezza wr1 won very easily from rolling 40mph start up to about 120mph
ferrari f430 didn't do too bad up to 90mph then he started to pull away from a 20mph rolling start

Are you sure it was a real WR1? My Dad has one and having driven it I'd say it's faster in a straight line than my standard VXT.

I’ve been on many track days now and it always amazes me how well all the VX’s do on track all variants...Na’s Tubbies & S/C’s. I guess the average Vx’er who tracks his car is more focused. I still enjoy playing with the Caterhams the most on track. If you catch a quickly driven one, it extracts the best out of you. I was at Cadwell last week with Guy in the car with me. I was following a radical closely (the driver obviously was not an expert!) & pushing my car fast into & out of corners. Then in my rear view mirror, from nowhere a Trick Evo race car appeared, I moved over and as he passed both his drainpipe size exhaust pipes let out an almighty fiery explosion and made us both jump out of our skin!...It was fast and was lapping faster than any other car by a big margin. The fastest car I have come across on track was a superbly driven modified Superlight 500. It was in a league of its own! Guy also took me out in his car on the road and I was genuinely impressed at how quick it gathers speed, overtaking was just a 2 second affair.
