The temperature dial on my heater has broken in that it's almost impossible to turn passed the 1 o'clock postion and feels though it may just snap off in my fingers. The fan and flow direction dials are fine. So, do I have to buy a whole new heater unit or will one of the various aftermarket mods solve my problem? I have searched but obviously not very well. Cheers Sticky

I'd start by spraying the lever on the top of the heater assembly with a bit of WD40 thumbsup - you should be able to move it by hand :)

Cheers for the quick reply.

Is the lever under the dash or under the bonnet?

And yes I am stupid!

And if that doesn't solve it, it will be the cable behind the control dial. You'll need to remove the top cover of the dashboard and you'll probably find that the outer cable has come adrift of the cable clamp on the mechanism behind the temperature selector. And when the inner cable (it's like a bike brake cable with an inner and outer layer) is pulled or pushed by the mechanism it's probably not going anywhere (or like mine did, might have bent the lever). It's all very simple once you've got the dash cover off and it's a good opportunity to clean out and seal the air ducting to make the most of what air the heater does deliver. thumbsup
