Hi there, I suspect that either the thermostat isn't working or the fan seized on my VX220 n/a. Can anyone tell me what temperature the fan should come on at? I've seen 105C when stuck in traffic, which seems a bit high, but I've no previous experience of the Vauxhall 2.2. Ta much.

106C here for NA too. Sat in traffic, desperately praying for the fan to kick in. It makes you nervous, doesn't it? :)

Been asked hundreds of times. It's as stated above. The system is under pressure so won't boil at 100c like unpressurised water.

If you're worried about it (and you don't have any need to be) buy a ScanGauge and you can program it to turn the fan on and off with the press of a button. thumbsup

NO. the reason they pop is because they are made from cheese, NOT due to the operating temps.

although saying that, spanking the arse off the car daily seems to have made the rad more hardy ;)
