I'm new to all this. I've recently bought a VX and want to try a few trackdays. I'd ideally like a little instruction before I go (I've seen red letter day stuff - any good?). Does anyone have any recommendations for a complete newbie? I'm not too far from oulton park so any instruction here would be fab! Thanks

Had a look at his site and that looks exactly what I'm after. Before I decide to travel all that way is there anywhere similar a wee bit nearer to manchester?

The walshy days are recommended as the best training day for elise/vx owners :) But Oulton park will have qualified instructors who should be able to help thumbsup Give them a phone and ask

It depends what you want to get out of it. If you are wanting to learn how to control a spin, braking and steering techniques then, as Jas says, go on a walshy day. If you are wanting to just learn how to drive on a track, lines, braking zones etc then do a trackday and get instruction. I did a Walshy day when I first got my NA and I learned a lot about how the car handled/reacts to various inputs. Things which have been useful both on track and normal road driving. If you are wanting to just do a track day then Motorsport Vision run regular novice days at Oulton Park. I went to one for my first trackday and everyone was well behaved and because everyone is a novice you don't have to worry too much about people flying up behind you. Just remember to give people plenty of room and take it easy especially if it is wet.

Think thats what I'm really after. Might try both, but I think its the walshy treatment I'm really needing!
