Getting my hardtop sprayed and need the calypso red paint code. Where is the code - on my pug gti it was on a label inside the door. The only label on my vxt 2004 seems to have weight stats. Any ideas?

According to this 21U is blue. Isn't mandarin 2IU - haven't got the car here to check  I've got a touch-up stick, and it's got 596 on it. One of Mandarin's posts somewhere has the correct code...

Sorry, I meant Mandarin's post has the correct '2xx' code. I know 596 is correct - it's a GM paint-stick :D What's the difference between the 2xx and the 596 codes? Why are there two? Edit: typo

Forget where I lifted this from. but:

Here's a list of the VX paint codes and names and their respective DuPont codes.
• The DuPont stock codes were found using the >DuPont Online Colour Retrieval< for the Opel Speedster (there were more paint codes listed for a Speedster than for a VX220).
• The VX paint names/codes are based on a list that has appeared on the board from time to time.
• Other VX paint codes may exist for the same paint name but they still boil down to one DuPont code. I have shown only one VX paint code for most names, but listed all I could find for names that I was unsure about.
• I have 'corrected' the VX paint names and codes to match those shown by DuPont. There were a few spelling inaccuracies e.g. 0 for O.
• Some of the colours may be listed under the wrong heading, possibly the two pearlescent yellows?
• Please copy and update this list in a reply if you need to make an update to it. I may be missing some colours.

But all the others (except Petrol Blue) have a letter as the second character (I'm sure we've had this discussion before) - so wouldn't it make sense if it were 2IU? Especially since 21U is blue (if my link is correct)? What does the label on the door jamb say?
