I have decided to carry out the 60k service myself as Plans is a long way from Cardiff!! Following items were carried out:
Engine Oil Change using Mobil 1 15W/50
Gearbox oil
Spark plugs NGK
Air Filter
Engine Oil Filter
Brake fluid change
Also recent items were carried out on the car @ 61k service:
Change gear linkages as old ones had dried up - a common problem on the VX
Change F / F Discs to Mintex (machine grooved)
Change F / R pads to Mintex Extreme
Dynamat to rear bulkhead, beneath seats, and behind door cards.
Alcantara to Dash board, Speedo Binnacle, door cards and gear surround.
Carbon film to passenger / driver divide plate, Door handles, Dash plates, and cup holder.
I have owned the car for the last four years, originally having 18k miles on the clock when I bought it in 2004. The car has mostly been used for commuting although I have had the joy of taking it on the Euro Tour in 2006. During the trip I was able to take it Nurburgring and the car was truly stunning. The handling is extremely neutral and the car really does give plenty of confidence.
After the recent overhaul the cars feels better than it ever has. Pulling very smoothly throughout the rev range and feeling very composed with very few sqeaks / rattles. The car has been an absolute joy to own and I am only selling as I really want a Lotus Europa.
The front end looks like a spotty 15 year old and there is a minor scrape on the front offside corner.
The car is due for the Brake Servo hose recall. I have not had this carried out as the car does not suffer from the brake servo issue. I can get the hose replaced prior to any purchase if the buyer would prefer.
Obviously the HOOTERS sticker will be removed if the buyer wishes.
