i think i paid about that price when i was changing one of mine. it was a right pig of a job! i bought a proper lambda remover and that just rounded the thing off! then i got a big ass spanner on it, slipped and broke the wires when they join the sensor

I think the difference between the sensors is the length of wire they come with If you buy a generic one you'll have to splice the wires, as it (prob) won't come with the correct plug on the end :)

ive ordered a universal one off ebay. its coming tomorow. There is a thread i found in the useful thread collection explaining the process of changing it. Does anbody know how much of the diffuser and undertray has to be removed on the vxt to get to the lambda's? i will be taking it apart tonite so a heads up would make things a bit easier!

you can reach in the engine bay from the passenger side to get to the main mixture sensor which is number 1, which matches the fault code you have. have you been getting poor mpg ?

in the picture below, see the blue plug, see the grey wire below, that goes to the sensor by the precat

"you can reach in the engine bay from the passenger side to get to the main mixture sensor which is number 1, which matches the fault code you have. have you been getting poor mpg ?" i dont seem to have poor fuel consumption at all. infact it almost seems a bit better at the moment!

Yes, push the heat shield towards the pre-cat and get an adjustable spanner on it. If it won't come off easily it may be seazed. If this is the case you may need to remove the precat to get enough force to get it out (which is a nightmare)

sorry to drag up old thread but, to answer the above yes it's true. I tried! Was then told by a sparky on site why but can't remember now, something to do with it being too pure silver wire or something?? had to use crimps!
