Right before any search monkey flames me, I have searched. Been searching for ages, and I cannot find what I seek. The VW relay that we use for wiper relay mod.... Do they work in VXR's, and what was the VW part number???

no idea if they work in VXRs as I haven't bought one yet, but from my readyness search

Aftermarket Wiper Relay
Use a VW wiper relay (part number 3B0 955 531 for £31.71) to provide variable delay intermittant wipe and reduce the number of wipes used after a wash. The VW part number has possible variation: originally 357-955-531 reported changed to 1HM-955-531B. VW have been known to refuse to sell them and to try to supply 191-955-531 which is the non-programmable part for £23.50.

Bosch also make these and they work identically Bosch part number 0-986-335-058. £20.50 including VAT. Any Bosch stockist or agent. Go to http://www.boschautoparts.co.uk/ and click on "Dealer Locator".

Fitting instructions: on your back, feet up, head down in the passenger footwell. Looking up there are 3 relays in a block. Its the one nearest the driver in RHD models (check by activating "intermittent wipe" you can hear / feel it click). The relay pulls straight down out of the block. They can be very stiff and may need easing from the base with a thin wedge (err, flat blade screwdriver). They are handed and cannot be inserted with incorrect orientation. Turn the ignition off first.

Can't believe there's anything different about the VXR to stop it working.

Check fleabay for VW Wiper Relay - it should have a 99 on it.

Here you go

You could check the EPC to see if the OEM relay is the same for a n/a/Turbo/VXR? Can't think that a VXR would be different?

They come up on ebay from time-to-time: that's where I got mine. Er hold on, in this very thread - you said you paid 99p for yours: http://www.vx220.org...;hl=wiper relay

powned

Yeah, lol, but if you check your dates, that was for my old NA. I sold that ages ago, and I've missed that damn relay since I sold up. Search as I have, I couldn't find any info to buy a new one.....

Until now. Techieboy rules, lol. Nice try tho.

Inneptitude is my excuse NOT laziness :9mm: . I searched, but I couldn't find it. Think I mentioned that at the start of this thread.....

In another thread (that I cannot find), I actually give somebody else the part number I just asked for.

This search (or more specifically, my grasp of it) is crap.
