I'm convinced my arch scraping is to do with bushes as it has got progressively worse even though nothing done to the suspension.
It's probably the rear tie rods and I will most likely replace both.
Got me thinking about the wishbones though - not only could those bushes be guilty but it could be a good idea to do all 16 at the same time. Plus Hammerite
So ...
1) 8 year, 36,000 mile car - seem reasonable to consider changing wishbone bushes?
2) Is it DIY-able? If so, what is available for the removal/pressing in of new ones? My level of skill is bolting on Gaz units, fitting new discs etc.
3) Poly/OEM? Can of worms I'm sure. Poly would seem good to me unless it massively alters the road driving quality. I say, 'massively' as it is a bit of a toy and has depreciated to the extent that I may even consider making it a dedicated track car in the future ... but for now I really enjoy it on the road.

Can't answer you technical questions
but even if you make it a dedicated track car, unless you are going to trailer it you need to keep it sufficiently comfortable for the road as you'll presumably still need to do hundreds of miles getting to and from the various tracks. And don't forget those Alpine passes!

Wishbone bushes are very diy-able if you have a bench vice and some sockets. The problem I found is getting the right lube to push them in with. You really need rubber lube as other stuff will perish the bush. Each wishbone will need removing to do this. I doubt that your issue is due to bushes BTW, even if the bush had completely failed there would only be 1cm play tops and it would more likely present itself with a lot of clunking noises and would be plainly visible to look at.
Bush refreshes are always a good idea anyway and poly's will be cheaper than OEM. Apparently Nylatron are the ones to steer clear of as they are designed for race cars.

LPS can get "bush inserting lube"
I think TADTS site has a good "how to" for a suspension update.
Not sure if its still applicable/available but JimmmmmmyJamJeruselam setup a discount with motobuild or similar last year. Worth looking in the GB forum and seeing if they still offer the discount
