But everyone knew Ben as the Stig is a wasted talent, he really is a very good racing driver and as all too often lis the case, he lacked the funding to go all the way to the top. Cheers Ian

Ben's a great bloke he's set up a few track days for some of us guys over the past years shame he's let it slip I wouldn't even tell my boys who it was. shame It was a really good concept I hope they don't sack him and replace him with another Believe me there are stunt doodahs que'n up for that job.

I'm afraid his days at Top Gear are numbered Just look what happened with his predecessor. It seems it's a clause in their contract that it ends the moment their identity is reveiled.

Oh well..quite clear in the contract that he signed that that would happen (as in the previous stig,) so one can only presume he wanted out and 'jumped'..either that or the petrol's gone to his head and he's totally lost it

I understood there was Ben The Stig BUT there were many other Stigs.... Manuafactors would send their own test driver to run their car around the TG circuit..they would be dressed as the stig

It depends which cars are on track As Dave points out, the way TG managed to get the cars they did, to do timed laps was to accept that manufactures would only let their drivers out. Hence the de-personified the driver.

Apparently whenever you visit a Disney theme park and you see Mickey Mouse or Winnie the Pooh doing a kiddy meet-and-greet, nobody at any other Disney park will see the same character at the same time. It's a sort of Disney paradox. I wonder if there is a Stig paradox, or simply only one set of white (but smelly) overalls I thought it was so widely known that being outed now would only be informing people who had not been interested enough to ask yet.

If the BBC want a new driver they now have the perfect excuse. If however they want keep Ben all they need do is film white Stig's demise at the end of this series. Before the start of the next series go and buy full kit in a new colour maybe blue or BRG and introduce the new Stig. It could be quite a while before anyone found out. If the Beeb were that bothered about the identity leaking they could put out a few red herring rumours at regular intervals to keep us off the scent.
