Hi Guys,

just thought i'd post this for anyone wanting some VX bits that are compatable with the Lotus.

after speaking to the monkeys at my local Vauxhall dealer and getting nowhere i decided it was time to ring round....

i was waiting for over 6 weeks for a turbo engine bracket from Vauxhall, so when i rang Christopher Neil Lotus and they said it was half the cost of Vauxhall and would be there in 2 days i was chuffed to say the least! so i quickly told vauxhall where they could stick their order :)

The guy i've been speaking to is Paul Mcstein, he's a very helpfull guy, and generally does his best to get you a bit of discount, free postage etc where ever he can.

i've had nothing but the best service from Paul & Christopher Neil in generall so i thougt i'd let you guys know about them :)

Details are as follows:

By engine bracket, do you mean engine mount  I always presumed that was a VX220 specific part  How much did they charge  :)

The VXT brackets for the drivers side engine mount & bulkhead gearbox mount are the same as the Europa S ;) the gearbox mount at the rear most of the car is different, but only because i'm using the M32 6 speed gearbox, as per the Europa S too!

john

EDIT: quick edit, the pax side engine mount is different too, due to the M32 box!

I completely forgot about the Europa, do you know if they use a VX style rear subframe, or have they stuck with the much lighter Elise version

err, no idea TBH, but the engine bushes/mounts look the same, might be cheaper than the VX ones, i'm going to give them a call as i need a passenger side one. (already got a new drivers side) have a look at the attachment, see if you agree.... p.s. does anyone know the rough cost of one side engine bush/mount? from autovaux or similar?

Do you have a Lotus part number for item 6 :) I think the mounts are around £45 a side from Autovaux

I did the same conversion using the 6 speed box - have you used the Europa driveshafts too? These were the most expensive bit but the 6 speed is worth it, much slicker change and close ratios that suit the car.

I got a happy chap called paul help me. chris neils replaced a rear clam for me in the summer, the attitude of the staff was ok at first but quickly got shocking. When it came back (the clam was spot on), one of the rear light cluster seals was really condensed up and has been since. When i tried to contact them about it, they completely ignored me and wouldnt return my calls. I will never go back there.
