One of the main cost savings is not using the AP bell and rotor setup - I think the calipers alone are around £550 new

Lee - did you get the brackets custom made, or happen across a secondhand set

Can you post the details up? Will be interesting to see how you get on, may be something to consider once I have killed my disks and pads, but at the moment I am quite happy with them.

personally i dont think there is any need for them as if i stamp on my 2 pots (with pagids rs14s, 308mm grooved discs, goodridge hoses ap 500 fluid) i can lock my R888s on a dry track....so whats the point? If it can be done really cheaply then maybe go for it but i would think 4 pots would be hard to use on a greasey wet track/road!

That was my initial thoughts. But after driving an AP 4 pot upgraded VX the initial thought was that there was no real noticeable difference from my AP disc/RS14's/Braided hosed car on track. However, after braking late after some long straights it was apparent that it wipes of the speed quicker & consistently, especially after continuous hard driving. There's not a lot in it to be fair, as the VX's are pretty light cars. At normal hard(ish) braking speeds I couldn't tell any difference!

Have to say the brakes work fine on my setup and agree with what has been stated that there is not much improvement other than very hard track use - Also weight to think about if your not going ali bells etc Fair play for sorting though - looks good :) Cheeky, remember I live VERY close to AP racing and know a few of the guys there and have used BG developments in the past for brackets etc ;) Must see if they will put the vx on their brake dyno like they did with my Renault 5 audi conversion - never seen brakes glow like it and thought my car would melt! LOL
