LIVE FOR SPEED.

ignore the 2006 graphics, ignore there is hardly any real car.. and just enjoy the immense physics engine they have created :)

gtr1 is ok gtr2 looks good, but the physics are crap, the cars just seem to understeer all the time, and to me its very off putting. seriously tho, if you just want to mess about with a car then lfs is the one for you, it has many road cars with a couple of gtr cars.

LFS works thumbsup Pretty good fun - a bit of realistic racing just what I was after.

Bit old now, but Grand Prix Legends is more of a simulator type game.

Shocking, a realistic simulator that you can't drive fast after 10 minutes?! That's almost like, real life! ;)

rFactor is pretty good too in the realism stakes. LFS is the least realistic of those three but as such the easiest to get into whilst still keeping a modicum of accuracy (and some parts of the physics model are damn impressive).

lfs even simulates the fuel sloshing about in the tank.. lfs is probably by sim of choice, but that might be because ive followed it pretty close and i know most of the little things about it many dont.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't. It models fuel usage as affecting centre of gravity but only in terms of the amount of fuel in the tank, not in terms of any simulation of the fuel behaviour as force is applied.

To be fair LFS is in need of a decent update, the suspension model in particular has a few oversights and of course there's the poor range of surface simulations and lack of ability to vary grip across a surface (so no racing line grip changes). It's still damn impressive though.

yea i know, tell me about it, im pretty sure it does simulate sloshing, i think scawen said himself. but there is th new scirocco coming out soon, aswell as some suspension changes i think and some bits no1 knows about.

No. The way forward is going to be assetto corsa. Atm for true bumper to bumper racing with very good physics, live for speed is still the one to beat imo.
