As per the title. After my VXT is up to temperature and on a road which requires the use of 5th gear I can hear a scraping/grinding noise coming from the engine bay when I lift my foot off the throttle. It sounds like it's coming from the pax side of the bay. I was just wondering if all VXT's make this noise or if this could be a potential problem!? Im hoping it's just the turbo spooling over whilst not being used or the sound of engine braking (not breaking  ) Cheers in advance.

does it sound like loose biscuits shaking about in a tin? if so then TADTS... my (and most ive been in) N/A makes that kind of noise in 4th/5th when you lift off the throttle... even did it after new mounts, so I think its shunt in the gearbox

Try shaking the air box around to see if its lose. I had a vibration noise when lifting off the throttle and the air box mount had snapped.

My NA also does it when lifting off. It does it more when warm so I suspect something in gearbox. Oil level in box fine so probably some thingy in the clutch whose name escapes me ..... but will apparently be fine for ever.

Thrust bearing , I get it too sometimes but apparently its not anything to worry about , just anoying when all you want to hear is the exhaust burbling

Thanks for the piece of mind fella's just hope it's nothing serious disguised as a common sound  I'll check the airbox at some point tomorrow to make sure it isn't that but as it only seems to occur in 5th gear I can't imagine that could be the issue as it would happen in any gear I would think. I'll have to get that Larini soon to drown out that noise :P

His is not an NA, but I have not noticed biscuit tin sounds as being normal. I dont know there are that many noises it makes a new one seem insignificant, a rattle here a knock there its all part of the fun.
