Well car is booked in for the mapping on the 1st & 2nd April (hopefully done in a day) So got most things I need for the car and other than getting the snapped bolt out I am ready to put it all back together :) 1 area I have not finished is the revised intake to the turbo(have a small bit of time now the tb top hat pipe are getting made by someone else), plan is to run mandrel bent pipework from filter / MAF to the turbo with a silicon reducer. The pro alloy is a good upgrade over standard but has a limit of 350bhp - I am not going to be running this much power but know I can improve on the flow and the mod is done for any future mods and is not going to have any negatives. So 3 options I am looking at 1. 1.9cdti 150sri thing air box and retro fit to car and already has outlet of 80mm for the MAF - never measured one so so far not sure how easy to fit 2. Decent cone filter sitting in the air intake ear - it is quite far from any large heat source and would get all the cold air it needed - maybe look at a sheild or some extra ducting to it if required. 3. Retain std modded box and revise the oult section and convert to 80mm Has anyone played much with different setups on the vx??? All of the abouve options are quite cheap which I LIKE :D Regards Duncan

Hi Duncan, i have the VXR MAF & i'm running a 63mm solid ally pipe from the turbo inlet with the MAF in there (yet to get rubber adaptors) along with a K&N filter stuffed into the pax side vent. a couple of reasons for doing it this way really, i dont have a std airbox & the 2.2 engine came with a K&N fitted, i bought a load of 63mm pipework & i konw the VXR MAF is better. let me know if you want pics...... p.s. i know a lot of tha astra VXR boys run the CDTI airbox, but its about £200 quid for the conversion apparantly.....

From vaux a new box filter its only £60 ;) you can get it cheaper could not see it been more than £100 all in but then maybe someone is making £100 each kit lol. 63mm feels a bit small tbh the pro alloy is 70mm. John are you running the 80mm MAF then? Better than std rubber pipe though ;)

it might be, off the top of my head i don't have the measurements. but i do know that my 63mm elbow fits fine on the turbo inlet. mine is the astra VXR turbo, not sure if that makes any difference or not?

I have the MAF from the Vectra. I believe it is 80mm. The map was changed by CS to ensure correct readings.
