I have a rear alloy (no tyre) in my front room. I dont have any scales but picking it up it is heavier than it looks. I could be wrong but I estimate it to be about 20-25lbs. Nige

Thanks :) It's amazing what a set of lighter alloys can do to you 0 to 60, not to mention handling :)

Speedlines are 8kg's each. From memory standard VXT wheels are 12kg's (although I cant actually remember)

I had 2 in mind, I've used both wheels before on other Roadsters.

The Racing Hart CP-035 which is about 13lbs (5.8kg) give or take.

Or the Team Dynamics Pro Race 2, which is about 15lbs (7kgs)

But is it available in the correct sizes? Consensus is 16" front, 17" rear. The chrome wheels american site doesn't mention VX or Speedster – would it really be so light?? And are they available in Europe for non-US market cars?

I'd be surprised at 7kg's///the Oz and Speedlines are both between 7.5-8kg's (depending on size) so 7kg's would be almost in mag territory.

7kgs is the offical weight of the Pro Race 2. One of there race wheels. I've used Team Dynamics wheels before and have always been happy.

Another Question: What are the offsets of the 16 / 17 speedline wheels wich will be used on VXR? @ Speedy K The problem with Wheels from Japan / US such as Racing Hart, Volk Racing, tenzo R etc. etc. is that all of them don´t have any "Festigkeitsgutachten" or anything else wich would make them TÜV-able.. The only way would be, to get a set of 5 and make a strengh-test (wich destroys one of them) and then make a "Einzelgenehmigung" michi

Team Dynamics are great wheels no mistake...the issue is size. The Speedlines are in the right size, the right bolt pattern and are already TUV approved.

My information on the weight of the TD wheels is limited to the web site which quotes these sizes and weights. 7.0 x 17 e25-50. 17" from 7.0kg I DO know that the Racinghart CP-035 is a very light wheel, sizes and weights are - 17 X 7.5 13lbs 17 X 8 13.6lbs 17 X 8.5 14.4lbs 17 X 9 15lbs 17 X 9.5 15.2lbs

:o :(

So, still looks like the Speedlines.

Do you reckon you have any chance of getting the Lotus lightweight hubs and 4-bolt wheels approved? Can't really see it happening in Switzerland unfortunately.

TÜV-able.

Maybe it's just me, but the last time I bothered to check if anything was TÜV approved was on a roll bar for a MR2 Roadster. Most people could tell just by looking at it that it would fold up like a mouse trap with the driver under it in a roll.

Am I misjudging TÜV approval?

I've used Racinghart wheels on cars here and in the US and never had a problem with them and I know people that use the CP35 every day on road cars in euorpe and the US.

It´s not the problem that i think that the wheels are not strong.... But here in Austria (and switzerland where speedyK is) you can get into serious trouble, when you´ve mounted wheels without TÜV for example after an accident, insurances won´t pay anything!!!! That´s the problem.. I also can´t imagine, that the Racinghart wheels are easier to destroy than the standard NA wheels :P
