prologue: some months ago I bought two 215/45r17 and two 235/45r17 (hankook rs2) and I had some abs problems, so i just took them off and I bought two 205/50r17 (bridgestone s-02) and two 225/45r17 (RE040). this time I had no problems and I am very satisfied..

But now I have a new set od TD 1,2 wheels (16+17) and I'd like to use the old hankook on the rear and finish them before buying some r888.

I reckon that the most similar tyre to the original 175/55r17 is the 205/55r16, and this size is very close to the old hankook I have in my garage...

Does someone have experience with this FRONT size? any help would be appreciated...

thanks..

(here ther is a little test on siracusa's track, last sunday chinky chinky )

You'll have to find a tyre with a fairly stiff sidewall, else the amount of flex on a 55 profile could make the front end feel 'heavy' I've used 205/45/16 before and not had any probs :)

I'm on 205/50 R16's and they work very well. Braking and turn in on track is exemplary. No rubbing etc. They lie about half way between the standard wheel and the Exige/VXR size of 195/50 R16 as far as diameter is concerned.
