I need to buy a new rear number plate but am a bit fed up of them delaminating due to the heat, the rear "sticker" just lifts off, gets water underneath and soon starts to look rubbish. Does anyone know of a plate maker that does them in a more durable finish or makes them in a different way? I think one that is fully laminated may stand a better chance with the heat.

every now and then, run a bit of liquid superglue round the edge.

My rear numberplate has survived 3.5 years on my NA and 9 months on my turbo so far (plus time on a previous car). Still seems fine. Trouble is I can't remember who I got it from, it was so long ago! One of the online companies, dunno who though. This wasn't really much help, was it?

They won't do it with the spacing I require though...

Surely you are not implying that you would be using plates with improper letter spacing are you?! Of course this would only be for off road/track use!!! ;)

Perhaps a pressed aluminium plate may last longer, but then you'd end up with the same problem with spacing I suppose...

Yeah they're the closest I have seen, but I'd like to see what the construction is like up close. I'd also prefer them not in a CF look if possible.

Is your rear heat shield still on? The little "lip" above the exhaust? I snapped mine off when fitting my Larini and had the same problem afterwards..........

My rear plate's started to de-laminate too, looks a bit rubbish!! Might get round to sorting it at some point. On a plus note, I used the aptly named 'sticky stuff remover' to get rid of the tonne of double sided tape etc. used to stick number plates to my rear clam over the past 8 years!! Looks much tidier now :)
