Ummm.. Those lap belt holes seem to be positioned awfully high for a safe fit?

The lap belts are supposed to run low over your pelvic bones, *not* across the soft part of the abdomen...

To compare a MOG seat:

Note the larger and lower seatbelt hole.

Bye, Arno.

I guess we'll have to wait til they do a trial fitting - tho I'll mention it in the meantime :) They are cut afterwards (ie not part of the mould), so should be easy to place further down if necessary

Is there any chance of being able to borrow a "sample seat" as I am interested but would want to live with it for a week or so before buying one.

You can always ask when they're in production - might be best to wait for a couple of reviews :)

Do we have to buy new runner kits for these seats to work (which would add to the cost, most other aftermarket seats like these, require different runners) ? Or is it just a case of switching the OEM runners on to the new seats ? Will you still be able to more the drivers seat backward and forwards, or will they be fixed ? chinky chinky

They will use the same runners as standard, as in the pics (shown with a drivers runner, so should still be adjustable) thumbsup

I'm not sure without trying it, but looking at the pic it looks doubtful... Edit- it may be possible with a bit of clever reeving

Basically if they fit with harnesses & std belt, i'll take one at that price. Let me know when they are available for purchase.

shurley the standard seatbelts could be made to work as it would be a pain in the but getting in/out with four point harness if just going for drive down road for a loaf of bread. if it can be asked if they could be made to then it would be great and would make them more atractive to potential purchasers who dontwant harnesses all time.

If the outboard seatbelt end was threaded through the seat hole before bolting back to runner and the prong bit pushed through the inboard hole before clicking in place then it would work. However this would mean the belt could not be pushed completely out of the way when harnesses were used. I only use the harness on track and like the seatbelt for the rest of the time.

Sounds like a solution to me, JB.. :) thumbsup

Yep, that's what I was thinking - would have to see how much of a pain the outboard lap harness strap is (and the height of the slot compared to the height of the buckle entry)

A small update, They will look at the side cutout position a bit more when they get the ancilliary equipment (buckles, harness etc) to trial fit The prices are complete, but £25 will need to be added to each order to cover postage (whether 1 or 2 seats) The weight of the seat in the pics - 2 skin fibreglass is 4.5kg The weight of the drivers side runner is 3.2kg (:o) They are now looking at how best to mount the 7/16ths belt points :)

Mandarin, are you hoping to have one (or two) fitted in time for the National? If so, I'd really like a closer look and a sit in one, to see whether I'll i) fit and, ii) whether it's comfortable, if you could spare a couple of minutes.

It will all depend on the mounting mechanism, hopefully they'll be ready for then :)

I am quite surprised noone noticed the jig they used misses a key point : runners at the same level than the seat lowest point, but in truth you could gain something like +/- 1cm of headroom while this is not the case in our cars. Seriously, that's a shame for tall or (not so) tall helmet-on drivers :tumble:
