You need to remove the front and there are slots down each side to which you need to stick a head unit removal tool down and then it should slide straight out..

Something thin like a wire coathanger, earth wire from some 3 core or thin allen keys will do. Do one side at a time, use the stiff wire (or whatever) to ease the unit out then use finger nails and yank the rest of the way. Better than spunking money in Halfords if you only remove the unit once. Or go for the really pikey-thief-scum approach, rip the dash to pieces, leave loads of DNA in the footwell and smeared across the dash then jam a screwdriver in there and pop it all out.

Something like these plus tender violence. Once mine came out, it didn't go back!

:yeahthat:

I used those little mini screwdrivers. Take off the faceplate, and then the plastic trip piece.

Yeah, mine not going back in either. Thankfully I have a set of no radio dash plates. thumbsup

I have removed the standard head unit now. borrowed some of my mates romoval keys and it was easy as 1,2,3 (long live the king of pop)! replaced it with an alpine head unit which makes the crappy speakers sound a little bit better...
