I am sure Lookers are great. If they get a receptionist that has the ability to answer a phone, I am sure they will be excellent !

I had my car sent there on a couple of occasions for warranty work and wasn't too pleased with the quality of the jobs to be honest. A perfect example was when I have the turbo seals fitted to my n/a VX and the eejit's got glue everywhere. To make it worse, the new seals leaked even more so than the original items! :D On the whole they've been ok, in that they didn't argue about any of the warranty repairs, but I wouldn't feel safe in giving them a 100% recommendation...

I got my vx from Lookers Chester, and to be honest they seemed ok/good on most things, i don't think there is a dealership in the country thats perfect, however they did p1s5 me off slightly when i had to wait 3 months for a new windscreen wiper. Kept telling me it would be there, i got so frustrated i called in and demanded to know what the hell was going on, when the guy checked it hadn't even been ordered!! He ordered it there and then, and i had it within a couple of days? I would have gone somewhere else but they were doing it on warranty, just shows though that one persons incompetence can give a dealer a bad name. Overall Lookers Chester gets a thumbsup , but it seems you have to deal with the right people. Yorkie

I always try to deal directly with Antony the VX specialist as he seems to get things done quickly and he knows what he's talking about. I'd give him a thumbsup as he always helps. Mines in for it's 20K service on Saturday so will let you know how I get on because they may be a few things to sort out. The other service people there would just be unaware of how thorough they need to be with motorists who really care about their cars. PS I think this should be in the service area Forum. I'm sure Skiddo our moderator wil move it soon. Dan BTW good to see you Yorkie on the Chester area meet and have a chat about the car

Hmmmmm... I also posted that I was impressed when I had my service done as it was particularly efficient - however... my cars now been in another 4 times trying to rectify jobs they've done once or something thats gone wrong after they've been working on it, beginning to get remarkably p'd off. I will say that service wise - they've always been quick, courtesy car available, friendly and willing to have a go. just the results that are lacking now..... Having another go next week and speaking direct to Anthony - so we shall see. Apart from that, don't you wish it would stop bl00dy raining up here - I need to get some top off motoring action... Robin was that your black VX that was there when I dropped mine off - personalised no. plate starting with B I think???? Hey Yorkie and Dan... Driving home the other day with 4 VX's in the rear view mirror was quite amazing - Sometimes you don't appreciate just how cool they look until you see another one on the road!!!

Have to say that i am having some trouble with my VXT at Lookers, Aston. Andy has been pretty straightforward, but parts have been coming in dribs and drabs (4 weeks to do AMM, new discs, exhaust heatshileds and starter motor button). Resulted in me going to collect the car yesterday only to be told the discs hadn't been ordered. Met Blanchie, which was great chinky chinky , then spent two hours on the Aston Expressway due to a blind lorry driver who failed to spot spaghetti junction, grinding Brum to a halt. With my missus going beserk and the kids screaming. :saw: She wants to sell the Zafi turbo before that starts giving us agg, and we have to take it back there. Andy phoned this morning to tell me the car will be ready in a week and he'll drop it to me. Nice chap. It's times like these when you wonder whether it's really worth it. However, I know when I'm back in it, it will all be forgotten. Has anyone used Drive in Warwick??

I have taken mine in to Lookers Chester a fair few times to rectify usual minor niggles and have found on certain occasions to be very helpfull and efficient and other times the customer service has been slow and quite poor. Mine is due in at the end of this month for its third service and for the timing chain recall, so hopefully they do a good job. PS. Good to see you guys last Saturday, the VX convoy on the way back looked fantastic, I think that Landrover driver was quite bemused when 3 VX's overtook him one after the other! We should arrange something again soon. thumbsup JB

Blanchie

I have used Drive in Leamington Spa a couple of times now. They picked up a bit of warranty work with the clutch return spring, and they also did the 12 month service on the car.

I have so far had good service from them, and they seem to know what they are doing. I got the car from Lookers in Aston, but when I asked them to fix the window (which didn't meet the seal at the top) they thought it needed a new unit  . Lookers knew what it was immediately, and just adjusted the window. Seems Lookers hadn't heard of this one before, and despite taking the door apart (or so they said) they had been unable to work out that there was nothing actually wrong with the mechanism.

So far so good for Drive (and my VXT) anyway.

Steve

Edit:- because I don't type as quickly as I think...

Took my baby for its first annual service today today to CD Brammall's in Wolverhampton, where I bought it. VX owning nutcase mechanic chatted for ages and serviced the car. I paid extra to have the engine flushed before refilling. The car wasn't cleaned, but it was pissing down and my own mega clean from Saturday hasn't been muddied yet ! Two warranty items ordered (roof covers and a radio fascia) plus a new seat belt buckle & center tunnel that I didn't ask for ordered. £121 inc labour and flushing. Highly recommended on the basis of my simple experience so far. thumbsup

My VX na will be needing a new set of rear tyres in around 1000 miles or so. Anybody know how much a set of replacement potenza's will cost? And where to buy them in the surrey/sussex area? Cheers Fluffy
