once again minime has been asked a question in the quest for more power!!!!! been discussing power increases with chris at regal( again)!! he has asked me about an engine swap.......from the std. 2.2 to 2.4-2.5 ( same block but revised pistons head cams) gm performance parts do a kit for this i think....and from what i read can give an increase on std from 145 to 196!!! combine this with inlet /outlet manifolds exhaust etc... could be good for +220bhp!!!!! what do you guys think?

minime do you mean a rebore or a stroker kit, cos a stroker would mean a long ol' throw for the piston wouldn,t it? but otherwise you know me-more power please... ta d

Have you looked down the supercharger route? From what i've read, the ecotec 2.2 seems to strong enough for this?

I bought a GM Performance Parts "crate engine" a couple of years back. The stuff isn't the cheapest around, but the quality and output is pretty good. (You gotta love that V8 rumble...). Connell Chevrolet in Costa Mesa (714-546-1200) are really helpful, as are Jim Pace whose number escapes me. A lot of the parts in the GM catalogue may require machining or other work prior to use, so it's best to try and talk to a counterman before you order anything.
