My column shroud is looking a bit tatty round where the keys go. I imagine this is common?? I thought it was just grubby (my whole interior is) but I found it is covered / painted in a sort of satin black non slip coating. Can we get this to spray on or is it a new shroud time.?

I managed to pick one up from ebay, in great condition and for a great price. Haven't put on yet though, keying up the other one a bit more :-P

I was thinking of taking the whole shroud off and sending it to be flocked. Been quoted about £30.

If you dont disconnet the battery then your risking the airbag code appearing and that means you'll need to plug the car in to get rid

Anyone used this? Is it a similar finish to the original?

I was really surprised by the finish of Halfords bumper spray paint on the front V. Rough up the surface a little the spray on a coat or two, it is a matt finish and should be fairly hard wearing. I would give it a go on the shroud (after removing of course) and probably add some helicopter tape to protect the shroud a little more.
