I know I was looking into sorting the Ring trip this year, but I've decided that if I'm going to organise a big Euro blast, I'd rather fulfill a longtime ambition now while I still can and do Spa.

The Ring is something else, but within the timescales concerned I am not going to be able to learn the Ring to the extent to refine; and ultimately enjoy it like I will a shorter track like Spa. Also, I think the Eau Rouge is the greatest corner on the planet!!

So aside from apologising to my man SteveA for bailing, and imploring him to do Spa with us instead, in the words of Duncan Ballentine I have to say

"I'm Oot!"

Right

The plan is find a trackday, sometime in August (earlier the better), find somewhere nice to stay, and make it a 4/5 day trip so we can have a good few nights out as well as some nice drives. We could even make it a double header and do a day at Zolder, as it's only 60 odd miles away, and it's on the way home :)

Safer than the Ring, closer than the Ring, insurable... Seals the deal for me.

I know I've spoken to a few of you guys here and there, but who's keen..?

double check noise issues as that is a problem now ( Zolder 95db ) , Spa will likely be the same

strangely enough the summer is the "wet" season for the local area of liege

http://weather.yahoo...statistics.html

i am interested though , also want to get down to italy

This is the daddy of all trips and I can get under 95 for Zolder... Broached this with the missus over the weekend and she muttered someting about body over and dead. I think I will need about 4,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Brownie points before I can stick my name on the list but don't write me off just yet.

Cliffie, you've obviously blundered in and said "How about a track day in Belgium next year?" wrong approach mate. This should have been advertised to her as a 5 day well deserved break in a nice hotel abroad, with the slight chance of a track day on one of the best tracks in Europe which would be dream come true for you. No lies there just said from a different perspective.

That's spooky as that almost word to word what I did say. She is far too wise not to have seen through it for what it was; a hoolie with my mates in a car she detests.

I'm game but wouldn't do a 4/5 day'er. My holiday is too valuable (and the wife's goodwill is limited) to blow up to 5 days in one go, so would probably only do 2 nights and maybe a French trackday like Croix or Folembray on the way back.
