Hi,

I have been suppling carpets sets for the VX220 for over 2 years. Some 'Newbies' may not be aware that they are avaiable. so, with the colder weather getting ever closer, I thought I would do a repost.

The carpet set has:

side sill carpets (x2),
drivers footmats (x2),
passenger footmats (x2),
under seat carpets (drivers and passenegers side)
and rear bulkhead carpet.
9 pieces in total.

The side sill carpets are kept in place by slipping them under the top plastic side sill panel and just need a few bit of heavy duty velcro on bottom edge and top edge in the front bulk head area.

The rear bulkhead carpet (behind seats) slips under the rear bulk head panel (with shelf and speakers) and just needs velco on bottom edge.

Under seat carpets just stay in place by themselves

Front footmats just use the original foot mat screws to keep them in place. I supply 2 of each mat so that they are the same thickness as the original and this way you also get a spare if the top one starts to wear out.

For a full set is £50 + £9.99 postage (courier door to door).

Sets without footmats £40 + £9.99 postage (Courier door to door).

I will need to know what passengers floor mat you want I.E. no footrest, N/A footrest or turbo footrest.

If you order a set with no footrest, you can then mark the footrest mounting holes through bottom of the floorpan. Cut out these holes and then bolt footrest over the top of the new mats. Or go with no footrest as I have done.

Payment via paypal to kds69@yahoo.co.uk

I have changed the type of carpet that I use. It is now totally black gel backed and is the best quality that I have been able to get so far.

Please be aware that the carpet supplied to jet black and the original VX floor mats are a very dark charcoal grey. I dont think the jet black carpets go with charcoal foot mats but that's my personal taste.

I have over 70 satisfied customers all from this forum.

I don't supply the Velcro. But B&Q do a heavy duty type which is sold by the meter. Is very usefull on the vx in numerous places I.E. Fixing the number plates on. So worth investing in a meter or two anyway. Kev

Hi

Just weighed a set and they are 2.1 kgs, but that was on digital bathroom scales so not too sure how accurate they are?!?

Could reduce weight (and cost) by just having side sill panels and footmats (which weigh less than the original mats). Cost for 2 x sills, 2 x pass mats and 2 x driver mats is £35 + p&p.

Kris,

Don't worry, when this stock of carpet has run out, will get some more. Just may take a week or so to get it.

Just send me a paypal payment and confirm your requirements and I'll get a set out to you.

thumbsup from me, however do not try and fit them when its very cold! i did mine over christmas last year, and went through a load of velcro as it was cold and condensation meant it wouldnt stick! ended up warming the side bits with a fan heater! But still in place nearly a year on!
