What 'M' size are the bolt needed to hold my Z20LET iron block onto my new engine stand - they look like M10, but it would be nice to know for sure... In particular there are 2 meaty looking holes at the top of the block, where the F23 fits...

Assuming the turbo F23 gearbox casing is the same as the na F23 then I think they are M12 bolts for the gearbox casing to the block.

Edit: Yep, M12 according to TIS

Did you bolt into the block threads or through to a nut as some of the block bolt holes stand proud of the facing I think a trip to Bnq is for today 12 x 130 or 150? http://www.diy.com/d...terGallery=true

If I remember correctly, I used 4 bolts, 2 of which I had to use nuts behind and 2 that went into threads in the block. I think (75% likely to all be 12mm). Sorry to be so vague, but it was 8 months ago when I did this.

No I think I understand as I have had to do the same to get enough clearance to the block and to the engine stand arms and main boss

Just make sure they are a minimum of Grade 8.8 to take the torque
