I think I've got a dodgy injector in my 2.4L engine. It's an LE5 import from the US, so getting spares will be pricey. I wanted to try and find a source from inside the UK.

I found that it seems Mondeo St200 injectors have the same plug and look about the same (apart from colour):
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item19b81d1406

As far as I can tell from the net, these are 380cc/min (no idea what pressure), but there are 6 of these for a 200bhp, 2.5l - and I have to use 4 on a 200bhp 2.4l so my first guess would be that they are too small :(

Is there an on-line flow rate calculator (or table I can look my current injectors up in) anywhere, or does anyone have any tech specs on what the LE5 has? What is the flow rate of the standard 2.2 injectors? (and what pressure? I'm using the Z22SE fuel rail)

thanks,

Calculator

Awesome! Thanks, so I should be good for 328 cc/min @ 43.5 psi - but what pressure is the standard VX220 fuel rail?

When I had mine cleaned they were rated at 225cc/min at 3bar.

I've got some 2.0 SC LSJ Green injectors+harness spare if they help

also depends on the fuel rail pressure

I have some of those too (but I'd have to gut my old engine's wiring harness to use them :( ) What does the harness consist of? You mean the whole old engine harness, or just something for the injectors?

I figured if I could just get some more injectors with the same fitting I wouldn't have to mess around with wiring adaptors. Even better if they had higher flow rate as I'm pushing 90% duty now I think.

Actually does anyone know about the impedance/how these injectors are meant to be driven? Currently I'm driving them as high imedance (i think) - basically just leaving the injector on all the time I want fuel (rather than a pulse to open, and then halving the duty cycle after that).

The harness is just the 4x injector connectors back to a 5 pin single connector. Taken from an ebay listing for recon z22se injectors: Part number - Siemens Deka GM12565474 - Please ensure compatibility before purchase. Flow rate - c225cc/min at 3bar - Injectors will be given a final clean before dispatch. Resistance - c13.7 Ohms - High impedance.

z22se has a 4 Bar fpr fitted as standard the 2.4 uses the same size injectors as the 2.2, just a different type my advice would be to get some z20let injectors and map your ecu to them

They don't actually seem to have the same connector :(

Z20LET

ST200/LE5 - EV-6 I think

I actually quite like the idea of having 6 too so I could swap one out if there is an issue. Also if the greens really are 328, that makes 380cc@4 bar, which is basically perfect.

I just pop along to the breakers and chop off a few plugs for whatever I require
