I collect my car with its new front clam and respray on thursday, the place that did it I'd asked to source and fit the film as well but for whatever reason they didn't. Could someone recommend a type of film and place to supply and fit in Oxfordshire / Berkshire? I only need the front end doing. cheers Steve p.s I asked for my old clam to be kept for me, it only has very minor damage, I drove with it taped up for 3 months, just a crack round the driver side headlight and 6" crack intowards the nose. If someone want to buy it PM me :)

A friend of mine uses http://www.paintshield.co.uk/ for all his Ferraris (a 599GTB, a fully restored 328 and more recently his new California) - only problem is they prefer to install it at the factory in Peterborough

My friend's comments on them "they may be more expensive but they use a premium film which does not have the slight orange peel effect of the normal 3M stuff and has a higher gloss, they also guarantee to not cut on the car, not something some other installers seem too concerned about . Tom from Paintshield keeps us entertained with some of the horror stories he sees, most of which have had to be repainted before reapplication of film to remove knife cuts in the paint" thumbsup

Paintshield are in Grantham Lincolnshire or at least they were the last time I went. I can highly recommend them. They can now do the whole of front clam in one piece with no joins. Another bonus of paintshield over other fitters.

No, they've moved that's why I said Peterborough :poke: :P :D

Paintshield continue to invest in new products and facilities. The most recent being our relocation to state of the art premises in Peterborough

Someone said in one of my threads that Paintshield went back to using the standard stuff. I did like the sound of their advanced laminate film. Whats the situation now? Wrapping the whole front of the VX sounds great. i'm in the market for this as my new clam is delivered and painted in the next week! Guess it would be better to wrap it before it goes on?

Think the paint needs to cure for a few weeks before you can apply the film.

Painshield now use Ventureshield film (Ventureshield was bought by 3M). So the BS about premium films is rubbish. Don't pay more than £300 for a full front end inc mirrors. (up to bonnet) I can't remember the name of the guyi used but he was good and will travel. Althernatively you can source the film direct from ventureshield. Call their UK number which i can't access from here but that is on www.ventureshield.com. They won't be overly keen to bypass their distribution network, just tell them you will apply it yourself.

2 weeks is enough for curing apparently.
