Had lots of work done on the car by Liam at MMG as have a few other forum members and cannot fault his knowledge or passion for all things plastic with 4 wheels! So when he offered me the chance to try their new Stage 2 map for the VXT I was more than happy to oblige. I'm local to MMG so it has saved me a very long trip to Norfolk or Milton Keynes, and the more specialist support we can get for our little cars the better imo. Just so you know... I'm a complete numpty when it comes to car mechanical electrical voodoo, so hopefully Liam will be along to answer your more technical questions, but my lay verdict so far?.... Holy mother of the baby Jesus Christ!! Having driven a standard VXT for 4 years the step up to Stage 2 was initially daunting, especially in the damp greasy conditions we've had this week, but I drove the car into Birmingham on Tuesday and managed to explore the performance on drying roads. You get used to the VX when you've been driving one for sometime and I've become accustomed to it's little quirks... but based on the number of times I've laughed to myself this week like a little school girl I can definitely say that staging the car has taken me back to day 1 of ownership in terms of enjoyment and excitement! 5th and 4th gear on the motorway are astonishing, 3rd gear is ridiculous and I haven't had the balls to try 2nd and 1st until it dries out completely! What else... erm the power delivery feels very smooth and pulling off in 3rd is now possible, oh yeah I have noticed fuel consumption has increased a little and I'm keeping an eye on that. Fundamentally though it feels like the same car and can be driven quite normally but when turn it up to 11.... yeah let the girly laughing commence! I'll keep you posted! chinky chinky Stuey

I will as soon as I can! Yeah the website could do with some work but he always says he's too busy... would make good business sense to sort it though! :poke: Erm well I already had a full Larini system before the car was staged, not sure I've come across a Stage 2 without a modified exhaust...

Mike Dixon has been working hard with Liam to produce these new maps.....Hopefully the market will see a good alternative source for power mods now :0) MMG have some other great products in the pipeline too; so I believe

Liam has been busy, some very exciting stuff coming through and spent a hell of a long time getting the mapping ready. Can't remember the software off the top of my head cheeky :( You can read the lamba on the software or use a wideband in tail pipe - not sure which is currently getting used DG

Liam sure I have an old one knocking around if you want it to measure from ;) would need to also have some reflective heat covering etc on it though or it is going to get seriously hot! One of the main problems in a stiffer material is fitment (ie fitting / removing) as the bottom section does not just drop out. I have found excesive movement of the engine can cause the bottom section to foul the tub at the bottom of the bulkhead causing it to rip it off the mounts, carful bending can save it from that. Top section needs a bit more bracing imho to stop it shaking itself to death (it is only rivited together and not the thickest material). Sure Liam will come up with a good solution if he gets time :) if not give us a shout Liam as I have full access to an engineering workshop for the next few weeks and nobody there. Just about every tool you could ever want! Guess where I may sneak off to christmas day LOL. Oh and helped by Sarah's brother who is an engineer and can use them all :D there are things in there even I would not know what to do with DG

Any idea what your bhp and torque were before and after? A dyno graph would be ideal...

Probably be a while to get this off the ground!! Liam has a number of great VX products at the moment, but without the time or resource to develop any of these any further he's not able to launch them to the general public! Has a pretty tidy sounding Intercooler on the way for them of us wanting more power without having to charge-cool. Also if anybody has an MMG diffuser, he does make a great little brace kit now to stop it moving about. Can't WAIT for him to launch the new website. Reckon he should work through Christmas to get it ready

Well as soon as I'm able I'll get the dyno up. Car was standard apart from full Larini system... Was supposed to be at Liam's today but the roads were lethal so had to take the Fiesta to work :(
