Hello all,

I am wanting to buy a Brodit phone dock for my phone and wish to make sure it is possible to mount it in the VX for when I finally get one.

This is the dock http://www.dsldevelo...amp;Model=Magic I was looking at

Now they don't offer a mount for the VX220 but understand they are popular fitments so was hoping someone on here would have one? There is one for the Lotus Elise, will this work ina VX? I'm going to say no looking at pictures... http://www.dsldevelo...ultsproclip.asp

Next thought was a beanbag style one. If it sliding became a problem I would use a bit of velcro on the dash, but this also seems like a no go.

I don't like the suction cup ones.

Thanks.

I'm not getting that Brodit one at all (didn't study it though) - you'd have to drill the dash? I have the beanbag style, although I haven't tried it yet. Can report back :) The description claims it is suitable for curved dashes I also used to always have a suctioned goose-neck holder (for a TomTom) on the alu part under the heater control panel, but for some reason I can't get it to stick there anymore. It did take a particular manoevure to get it to work - but it did; doesn't now :( Edit: poor English

No, you buy a adaptor that's specific to your car. Usually attaches to a air vent. You don't damage the car.

Do you have a link to your bean bag one? Or is it TomTom specific?

The suction ones are rubbish in my experience.

This is the bean-bag one. Suitable for a multitude of gadgets apparently

The suction one I got was a TomTom one - not aftermarket. It worked for ages - it was brilliant, because I could have the TomTom off the windscreen. It must have lasted for over a year, and then suddenly it wouldn't stick to that part (actually I think it's plastic, not alu) anymore - but would glass.

Can't remember which manufacturer it is but, there's usually a VX specific one available on eBay. It clips into the the small gap between the stereo and the dash trim panel (think it might actually attach to the stereo mounting cage). From the pictures of it, it would have more than enough space on the front of it to attach the Brodit mount.

I'm just impressed that you think you will be able to communicate whilst the car is running. I struggle to hear the radio and I never hear the phone ring!
