Just going through a load of stuff about injectors and I am wondering what hp will the vxr injectors I have in the car will give. I believe they are 470cc , This will be with a stand alone ecu fuel pressure can be regulated to 5bar from 3.whatever it is..
I need something what will cover me upto say 400bhp high impedance ones ..sugestions
like for like fuel quantity injected , I just know that testing in our engine dyno at work showed that higher rail pressures always gave better atomisation.
at some point in the future I will go for Bosch EV14
Flow Rates:
650cc/min at 3 BAR
705cc/min at 3.5 BAR
760cc/min at 4 BAR
Resistance: 12.8-14.5 Ohms
Voltage: 8-15 Volts, Nominal 13.5 Volts
Pressure: Min. 36 PSI (2.5 bar), Max. 100 PSI (7 bar)
Dead Time: 0.7ms at 14 volts

Nick it is also not always just about how much they can flow but the pattern of flow at that rate - sometimes a much larger injector at lower flow rate can be better - guess the like of CS should have some feedback on this but think 400 may be a step to far?
I am realistically looking at 370-380 i still want it drivable, I do however what to be on the safe side and don't want the injectors maxed out.
Interesting Data EV14 is supposes to be rated at 550cc but they give much more than that maybe I should leave the 470 and up to 5bar then?
Had also thinking about these Injectors

650 cc with 4 Bar are good for 420 bhp sc
550cc with 5 Bar are good for 390 bhp sc
according to this calculator

vxr 470cc injectors are running at 80% duty cycle for 300 bhp on a sc engine running 4 Bar fuel pressure or 335 bhp at 5 Bar
650 cc with 4 Bar are good for 420 bhp sc
550cc with 5 Bar are good for 390 bhp sc
according to this calculator
I wonder about these calculators they say one thing but it seems the injector size they recommend don't seem to live up to the quoted performance in real life

Nick, PM me your email address an I will send you a huge spreadsheet of all Bosch injectors and all their associated parameters that you could ever want.
