Following on a similar thread to Andy172s post, purely from a power point of view (ie, not brakes/suspension mods), what's the biggest bang for the buck for £1000 ? Regus' site mentions the Dbilas flowtec manifold which sees "GAINS FROM 145bhp to 182bhp" for £970 However, does that require a free-er flowing backbox and induction kit to make the best of, or is the 182bhp achievable without needing to do those too.. if so, what can be achived with the flowtec manifiold, free flow back box and induction kit ?

You need the complete exhaust & re-map in addition to the Dbilas to get the 182bhp me thinks

Another example of the car tuner's law in practice. Something along the lines of £100 for every extra BHP gained. Applying this, £3,000 will produce about 30BHP extra. Which I don't think is too far away from the cost of the full Regal set-up. It's a curiously simple rule of thumb that should be easy to diprove, but time and again it works out :) Gary

Its certainly a lot more expensive if you increase your BPH step by step, personally if you can wait and save up I would be looking at spending around 4k and go straight with a super charger which would give around 200 bph+ I think Minimes already investigating this option at regal Mani

FYI

The price for the stage 2 mod is wrong on Regals web site.

I emailed them on Wednesday and this was the responce from Chris

Hello,

Yes you are correct, this is an error on our part and you have just bought it to my attention, the correct price of the Stage 2 upgrade should be £407.72 plus £94.00 fitting.

Sorry this mistake.

Thanks

Chris

I am considering this Stage2 and the SPAX suspension as a future mod. :jump:

Going to get the pre-cat taken out very soon as a start. :D

£100 per bhp, jeez Makes the 130bhp upgrade for the R34 Skyline seem cheap at £2000

Turbo upgrades and ECU upgrades are excluded from this :D It's relatively easy to crank up the boost pressure and fuelling. Upgrades to NA engines need more work on the inlet/exhaust side.
