Retain the oe recir if your going to use it - other option is to block the oe recirc but you need to mave the larger d/v a true recirc

There is a thread that someone put up for fitting an external larger dv to help combat the chatter issue we get with higher boost running cars. Because the car has a recir dv (put the unused compressed air back into the intake) the ecu knows this and adjusts the fueling to suit. By blocking this off and just having a dv that vents to the outside workld you can have the mixture a bit off between gear changes - prob not a massive issue but still not ideal. I have been running my external (larger than oe one on turbo) for a long time with no problems at all but do vent back in to my hard pipe before turbo. In fact the 1st :P So if you just want noise you need to run the oe one and whatever ext dv you want and plum into fpr. Hope this helps :) DG

No the VX has a recirc valve instead of a dump valve.

No the VX has a recirc valve instead of a dump valve. [/quote] yeh i thought that! so if i wanted to use a d/v, i need to blank off the recirc valve, and make sure i get a twin piston d/v!

Recirc is a d/v and in the case of the vx is attached to the turbo itself. (recirc vents the air back into the inlet system rather than the outside worldlike the d/v you are talking about)

As stated if you blank the oe recirc d/v you want the new ext d/v to be a recirc.

The dump valve can help avoid turbo stall on lift-off, but your OE recirc DV already does this job. Hence if you add the to-atmosphere DV to the system, all you'll gain is the fizzy pop noise.
