Thread revival!
Does anyone have a picture of these inserts in place? I'm wondering whether I want 2" or 2.5" inserts.
I'm looking to get a couple just in case I need them as I know I'm very close to the static limits. I'm hoping bolts secured to the inside will work for me.
Thanks

You'll want 3". 2.5" will rattle around. They should come up slightly small as they are designed for a 3" exhaust. If not, get them to somewhere with a milling machine to take off a thou or 2 until they slide in nicely.
What exhaust have you got?

So the decibel reducers arrived from Jetex. 2.5" was the right size. A cancelled 3" order turned up anyway so at least I could confirm that it was too big.
On the top pipe there is very little run to insert the reducer. When the reducers are fully home the farthest end blocks the bends into the back box so they will need to be cut down to maybe to a prong or two.
To hold the reducer in place I had a bit of a brain wave. I raided the stationary drawer for some flexible metal to act as a retaining clip. I opened out a metal paper clip thingy just a bit wider than the end of the exhaust. The lip on the exhaust holds the clip in place. If I can get the right length it should hold the reducer in place. It doesn't require any drilling and installing it is a doddle.
My only concern now is whether the hot exhaust gas would warp it so that the reducer might fall out. Any guesses as to whether this will work please?

They will be out in a blink. I use strong C clips that sit inside the lip of the exhaust that are strong and a very tight fit but, when both reducers were in one always blew out so I only run with one in and from what we found two made little difference over just one (tested at Goodwood with officials db monitors). I cant copy and paste links for some reason at the moment but there are pictures of mine if you search. If you cut down the pipes you show, one is nearly always slightly longer than the other.
