The Duratec conversions really look at home in the Elise engine bay.

How much though? To be honest, according to Wikipedia they don't push out that much power that normal ecotec in normal tune (151bhp for the non-VVT, 160 for with-VVT). Surely they've had to spend some serious money to get it up to 250bhp. http://en.wikipedia....gine#Duratec_23 Might be worth going for the 170bhp 2.5 - it's got a much longer stroke, but you probably get more usable power out of it... Surely it's more cost-effective to stick with Z22SE or plonk a bigger/supercharged ecotec in? - Gordon
