Elise Parts Arb And Bushes - Problem, Help.

I have just started to tighten it all back up but the bar has gone stiff in the bushes and they are trying to squeeze out towards the centre of the car. Anyone else come across this problem or any ideas on how to sort it without leaving it all off and waiting for EP to sort the proper parts?

New bushes came with the bar.Are you trying to use the original bushes? Those won't work, it should come with new mounts that replace the wishbone bolt.
Not sure what you are talking about with the wishbone bolt?

My OE one is very stiff to move with both droplinks off.I've took it back off and started again, it seems to have located better but it is still really tight and I would have thought this should be quite free to turn in the bushes.

Yep, the Elise Parts 7/8" version has the same bit of protective tape. Not sure on this ARB, but on the 1" one there's plastic tape wrapped around the bar where the bushes locate.
Take this off..

I spec'd mine with the uprated OEM style bushes (that use the existing ali clamp fixing) and it went on absolutley fine.

Yes thats the version I got, actually as I was sanding it down I notice a line of powder coating left after all the other metal was clean, probably a mark in the metal from bending, maybe my bar was a little oval or something.

Right got it done more or less, (been adjusting my front camber too, back to 1.0 deg as I felt the 1.5deg was too much)
The tape was there and I removed it before I started, but I took it all appart to check everything, the bushes actually go beyond where the tape was and hence over the powder coating.
I used some emery tape and some wet n dry to finish it the gave the inside of the bush a bit of a polish with the wet n dry, it's not 100% how I would like it but it's OK now, before it took both hands to move it.
Put it on the middle hole as a starting point.
Thanks to those that helped.
Oh and Mangham, typical wait till you drive past and get home before you offer to help
I actually hadn't seen the post until my response, otherwise I would have been the first down

I hadn't quite set off when I posted, but had been given the job of delivering the missus to O2 at the Metrocentre by 6:30pm

Next time you are doing any work on the car on a weekend and want a pair of extra hands given me PM

Nah I was round the back mate, and I was only joking, didn't really need a hand was just sick of the heat, pity though you could have picked up the door pins while you were here.
Anyway been out for a drive, seems ok, there is definately one less knock from the susspension. Next job the rear tie rods and hopefully another knock killed off.
Well I got a few to kill off, but everytime I think I got one it comes back with a partner!
That and the fcuking brake squeaking! I love the car, but it is a conundrum of it's own

BTW Mangham if you wanna do yours and would like a hand from someone who's done one by all means bring it to mine one weekend, we'll get it done in a crack if we do a side each, also made a couple of niffty tools to get to those bolts that hold it on, no need to undo the wishbone and no messing on turning an allen key 1 flat at a time.
Sounds awesome. Will definitely look you up at the time. I'll try and pop through for the anti-rattle door pins soon. Away for the next few weekends but defo want them still.

I've put them to one side for you, they are the last 2.
