Mine's done that for over a year now. Back on Track had a look and were pretty confident it was a bust selector fork. For me it hasn't got any worse, and it's a good excuse to practice your double-declutchingWhen going into 1st the gears crunch unless I'm completely stopped and ease the stick in very gently

I think you can get metal replacements for the (plastic) selector forks, which are reasonably cheap -- not including the 6+ hours to remove and replace the gearbox, mind...

Hi,
A mechanic that knows his stuff can change a box in 4 hours.

i will say 6/8 hours
doing mine this month

ps my fourth gear at le mans was giving me grief as well

you don't need the rear clam off for the gearbox, just do the same as if you were changing clutch, drop suspension out.
