Hi Everyone, im trying to remove my ECU but there seems to be some sort of security plate stopping me removing one of the connectors. because the back of the connectors kick out this plate blocks them:

The strange thing is only 1 is a security screw the other seems to have no head.

How the hell do I get this thing out? :D

Any ideas?

If you remove the anti tamper torx on the right, you can then move the plate back and forwards which will then losen the l/h shear bolt chinky chinky

There are four bolts in all, two at the front have 10 mm heads on and the two at the back, If you put your finger on the shear bolt and apply pressure as you move the plate it will eventually come undone. chinky chinky Yes, These bolts hold the ecu in place

Right, I have got the security one out but the shear one is giving me grief, I cant move the plate enough to put any stress on it. I think It is going to have to be drilled out :(

So long as you have a mains powered one it should be fine - might want to get someone else to hold the cables put of the way - MrSimba was my volunteer!
