Going to the 'return from Le Mans' LoT Abbeville day on Monday and following the chaos of last week I'm a bit nervous of meeting the lovely and understanding gendarmes. Really not keen on screwing my plates on so does anyone have the Consulate number in Paris or some ideas of avoiding the evil eyes? Its a shame that Abbeville is right on the Autoroute, so easy to get to. Any advice greatly appreciated

I did this day last year - when I did it we were travelling against the flow of the English :) It appeared Mr French Plod was looking for cars leaving France not entering so you may be ok too.

Dont nail it away from the toll booth, speed into a police station carpark and park up and wait for the gendarme and you'll be fine! :P :grouphug: To be fair we had no idea it was a police station untill the officer came marching out. You'll be fine just dont upset them thumbsup

I'm hoping so because my ability to converse in French is absolutely rubbish! One thing I regret not doing is a second language to a reasonable levelPosted Image
