Anyone any good at reading circuit diagrams?

I'm fitting one of these shift lights and would prefer to wire the power from the dash as well as the tach signal because the tail wire off the back of the shift light is so thin I don't fancy using terminal blocks or crimps off the stereo loom.

Looking on the circuit diagram is just confusing me. I'd guess either green or brown/yellow was switched live and black was negative, but I only get one chance before the magic blue smoke appears and the electronics genie says "you've fcuked that up mate". :D

Perfect timing. That's one of my jobs for this weekend as well. thumbsup Vocky, in addition to wiring in the shift lights, I also need to wire in a connection to the tacho for a data logger. Do you reckon it's safe to drive everything off there, or should I pick up an rpm feed from the coil pack for one or other device.

How is the Gizzmo going to be mounted? Recessed in the dash or positioned around the dash top?

I'm mounting it on the top with the wire going through a hole in the binnacle. I did think about some sort of recessed / heads up arrangement, but to operate it you need to touch the casing. If it proves annoying I have plenty of black tape.

thread bump , as techie , wanting to take a feed for rpm and speed to my RT DL1 . possibly with a bypass switch on the speed so it only feeds the datalogger. so rpm , = white+black pin a4 and speed = yellow+gray pin a5
